Thank you for visiting, and happy computing!
Since I started learning computers in 1995 due to pressure of computers
taking over jobs at the place I worked, I found that people like me needed
help with thier computers as I did while I was learning and I pitched in
where I could to help them with thiers.
The main place I helped at back then was at VOP
http://www.voiceofthepublic.com which has since been reborn but is not the
same site as it was back then.
Steve Gibson then started his OptOut program/utility and he "enlightened"
the internet users of what we now call spyware and other names, before we
called them uninvited problems and removed most manually. Steve Gibson
retired his OptOut program and told users to seek out Urizen's (Nicholas
Stark) AdAware program which was in it's infancy at the time but was a
viable program. At the time, VOP hosted help forums to aid in the betterment
of AdAware, then there was a rift betweeen AdAware and the owners of VOP.
Lavasoft created thier own forums and site at that time.
This led to me helping with Lavasoft (owners of AdAware)
for a while then building the TomCoyote website partially at
the time to mirror Lavasoft while their site was constantly being bombarded
and brought down due to attacks.
TomCoyote was created about that time frame
and the forums there also
Nick Coyote was my user name there
After parting company with Lavasoft I had helped a lot at SpywareInfo which
is owned by Mike Healan, a friend that I have grown to know over the years
we have been fighting these problems and I am still an admin at his forums.
SpywareInfo Forums and my user profile
there is located at:
my Nick there is

After a while it became apparent we needed to do more to help users and
train better people to help the users, while a user named cnm approached
some with an idea to teach by personal message, I wanted to take this
further and create a forum for learning so that many could learn and
interact at once. So I opened the TomCoyote.org Classroom
at TomCoyote and started private teaching with the help of selected
volunteers whom saw this same benefit would help so many in the long run.
After some success with this, it is now a trend that many have tried to
take on at their own forums, some with success, others with less progress
towards it however in the long run I think this will work across the
internet for the betterment of all users.
I am also co-founder of ASAP, (Alliance of Security Analysis Professionals):
This venture started after my site got DDOS'ed off the internet and I
figured along with Maddoktor2 that we should as forum and site owners band
together and share information and resources to combat these problems
hitting the anti-problem sites such as ours.
Nick Coyote, not sure if
the general populas can see admin profiles there.
This has been a pretty good success on a lot of levels but there is still a
lot more to grow with it as of yet.
As always I look for talent across the web and have helped quite a few
people learn and grow into being viable helpers across the internet and some
have gone on to build their own help sites.
Our main focus on all this is to help the
user of the computer get past any of the problems of the internet, not just
hijacks and slyware.
I also host chatrooms in which users can get help on posting and other
problems as volunteers have time to answer questions:

I have been awarded Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) for the last two years now and I am proud to have gotten this award.
